Hey All,

Im a Chicagoland piano teacher, and have been for app. 15 years now. I’d love to findout more about the age requirement for the most beginner level also how many students you expect in that category as well as the piano duet category?
Thanks much!

I would like to clarify the repertoire requirements for the rising star category - do the 2 pieces have to be contrasting periods or can they both be the same composer? Thank you.

Dear Sir/Madam ,
We have looked at your festival and competiotion and we very much would like to be part of this amazing festival. However, we are not in a position to afford the cost for the festival + travel expenses from London for myself and my daughter . Can you please let us know more about the scholarship program and if we can apply for it.
Thank you , Ivalina G.

Dear CIMC,

Hello. In light of the upcoming application for the competition this summer, I would like to ask about the repertoire that I need to include in my application. As I'm applying for the Professional Piano Solo Division, the regulation suggests presenting a program including four pieces from different eras; is this a requirement for the video pre-screening, the final live round, or both? Also, for the live final round, is it allowed to play a program that's different from the video submission? Thank you for your help.

Hi - I’ve been playing piano my whole life, but am an attorney for a living (37 years old). I’d like to compete in the piano competition but want to understand how I can qualify (if not this year, then next year) if at all possible, and what you will need from me. Thanks

Dear Mr./Ms.
My daughter is interested to apply to your competition but we have some queries and I hope you can clarify them:
1. Can all the songs be picked from the same period ( baroque, classical, etc. ) Or each song has to be picked from a different period?
2. Can my daughter use the same 2 songs she picked for “rising star” category repertoire and use them again in addition to another 2 songs for the professional category repertoire?
Or does she have to pick 4 new songs for the professional category?

Hope to hear from you soon,

Best regards,

Aline Nader

Hi there,

My son will go to the final competition in July. We need to travel from California to Chicago. Would you please let me know the exact competition location so we can book hotels. Also do you provide or do you have any recommendation on piano practice room?

Thanks!

Chen
