5. Son at 4 yrs old

The period of Festival Only will be during 30 Jul – 2Aug (4 days), right? So how much does it cost? Do we need to pay for 4 yrs old son and when is the dead line of payment and how to pay?

Hi, I don't understand the commuter rate of $1,100 for the whole week. This is a competition/festival and everyone must participate in the festival if you want to compete. Can you provide additional details on what this $1,100 is for? Thank you.

The fees cover the private lessons with faculty, the daily piano workshops, the daily concerts and recording of performances, the award winner's recital, among other items.

Yes, you can just apply here and because you are local, you can apply for the commuter rate of $1,100 for the whole week. Dear Chicago International Music Competition,

I am a pianist from North Carolina and a recent graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. I also happen to have spent my first year of undergraduate studies at Wheaton College. I was excited to hear about the CIMC and am very interested in participating. Unfortunately, I have other commitments starting August 1st, during the masterclass portion of the event. I am wondering if you would allow participants in this situation to only take part in the competition during the last three days of July. If so, I am also wondering if the price of participation could be reduced accordingly. Thank you for your time and help. I look forward to the possibility of participating.

Hi Owen--thanks for your note. Well, it's our policy that everyone participates in both the competition and festival however we might be willing to make an exception. Can you stay for at least one additional day of the festival?
