Competitions/Festival Schedule


Schedule: July 27th, 2019--August 3rd, 2019

Registration Date: Saturday, July, 27

--Dinner at Wheaton College

--Dorm check-in will be available ca. 3pm

Registration Date: Sunday, July, 28

--All Participants must register in person at Wheaton College

--tour of facilities and practice rooms

--organizational meeting to discuss schedule of competition and daily activities

--Evening concert featuring members of the jury

Competition Date: Monday, July, 29

--Final round begins

--All participants will follow the timetable to perform in the scheduled concert halls

Festival Dates: Tuesday, July 30-August 2

Festival: July 30th, Tuesday: Workshops, private lessons and student concerts

Festival: July 31st, Wednesday: Workshops, private lessons and student concerts

Festival: August 1st, Thursday: Workshops, private lessons, and Winners Concert 

Festival: August 2nd, Friday: Workshops, private lessons and student concerts and Closing Ceremony in the evening


Departure date: , August 3rd: Saturday (breakfast is provided)


Competition arrangements

1.All competitors must also register for the festival. Those who do not wish to participate in the international competition may choose to do the festival only.

2. Each participant will receive: three private lessons with a member of the jury, participation in three workshops, perform in one student concert, attend the opening gala concert, and receive a student concert recording. Participants may arrange a three-day Chicago tour on their own. Participants may watch master classes of other students at any time.

3. Participants can take Amtrak to Chicago for a city tour when they do not have to participate in a concert or master class. IIPA will provide each competitor and parent a city pass for a three-day tour of Chicago. This pass covers tickets to all the attractions in Chicago, including parks, museums, aquariums, zoos, LEGOLAND, amusement parks, the world's third tallest building, the Sears Tower, and Chicago Tour Cruises.

4.  Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian to participate in the competition. In the absence of a parent at the competition/festival, parents must sign a medical release waiver for their child in case of emergency. 

5.  In the absence of assigned competition/festival activity, participants may travel to Chicago on their own.




Costs

A. $1100 per participant, Commuters only

Three private lesson fees, counselor fees, facilities rental costs, performance recording costs, Airport bus shuttle fee, safety fee during contest period.

B. $1200 per person, Festival only ( resident)

8 days/7 nights room and board, master class fees, private lesson fee, translation fees, counselor fees, Chicago city pass costs, facilities rental costs, performance recording costs, Airport bus shuttle fee, safety fee during contest period.

C. $1000 per accompanying guardian / family member

The costs include: 8 days/7 room and board, counselor fees, Chicago city pass, Airport bus shuttle fee, safety fee during contest period.

D. $1600 Per US Participant (resident)

The costs include: 8 days/7 room and board, private lesson fee, judges fees, master class fees, private lesson counselor fees, competition facilities rental costs, recording costs, Airport bus shuttle fee, safety fee during contest period.

E. $2300 Per Oversea Participant 

The costs include: 8 days/7 room and board, private lesson fee, judges fees, master class fees, private lesson translation fees, counselor fees, Chicago city pass, competition facilities rental costs, recording costs, Airport bus shuttle fee, safety fee during contest period.
